Vagisan MoistCream has a high water content and as a result, it supplies moisture to the skin in the vagina and the external genital area. The lipids (fats) it contains nurture the sensitive and dry skin and make it supple.
You can adapt the frequency of use to your personal needs. Usually, the cream is applied in the vagina once a day (in the evening); once symptoms have improved, the frequency of application can be reduced as needed. We recommend wearing a panty liner when using this product.
You can apply Vagisan MoistCream to the external genital area and the opening to the vagina several times per day as needed.
Vagisan MoistCream is safe to use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. As a precaution, it is recommended that you do not use the applicator while pregnant, i.e. if you wish to use Vagisan MoistCream inside the vagina during pregnancy, the Vagisan MoistCream Cremolum is recommended.
The lactic acid content in Vagisan MoistCream is far lower than in Vagisan Lactic Acid. Vagisan MoistCream products are therefore not suitable for acidifying the vagina to prevent recurrent infections.
During menopause and the years that follow, vaginal dryness is caused by declining hormone levels. Therefore, one cannot expect vaginal dryness to ‘disappear’, but rather to remain. The regular use of Vagisan MoistCream, which supplies the skin in the internal and external vaginal area with moisture and restorative lipids, is similar to your skin care routine for your face and hands. Regular application of the cream helps keep the skin supple.
It is normal to feel a slight burning momentarily after applying Vagisan MoistCream. Even the application of gels may show this side effect.
However, should the burning be very strong and uncomfortable and last longer than 5 to 10 minutes (possible in individual cases), we advise you stop using the cream. In such a case, rinse the external genital area with lukewarm water. We then advise against further use of the cream.
