for vaginal infections

Vagisan sept is a unique vaginal antiseptic that directly treats the cause of the vaginal infection. Its broad spectrum of activity covers bacteria, fungi and yeasts, as well as some viruses and protozoa. Therefore, it can be used for a variety of vaginal infections, including nonspecific vaginal infections, protozoan infections such as trichomoniasis, and mixed infections. Here, not just one type of pathogen is responsible for the infection, as is known from bacterial vaginosis or vaginal yeast infections, but bacteria and fungi are simultaneously involved in an infection.
Vagisan sept can also be recommended for bacterial infections caused by Gardnerella vaginalis, Bacteroides, Prevotella, and Mycoplasma hominis. It can also be used for recurrent infections. Vagisan sept can be used repeatedly, as the development of resistance is not known.

The suppository is the only vaginal antiseptic with the active ingredient povidone-iodine, a complex compound of iodine with povidone, which has good tolerability. Vagisan sept is easy to insert without an applicator, also acts quickly, and is very well tolerated.

Good reasons for Vagisan sept:

  • fights the cause of the infection locally in the vagina
  • suppositories are easy to insert without an applicator
  • acts quickly
  • very good tolerability
  • no known development of resistance

Features of Vagisan sept Vaginal

Suppositories Antiseptics directly target the pathogens of an infection, such as bacteria, fungi, or viruses. They are commonly known as disinfectants, for example, for hands or for wound disinfection. Vagisan sept is a local antiseptic for the vagina in cases of vaginal infections. An advantage is that it unfolds its effect on-site and does not have to penetrate through the bloodstream to the site of infection. This allows for a very rapid effect.

The disinfecting action of Vagisan sept is due to the active ingredient povidone-iodine, a more tolerable complex form of iodine. The good tolerability and broad spectrum of action of povidone-iodine are particularly valued in surgical preparation and wound disinfection. Therefore, povidone-iodine is one of the most widely used active ingredients in gynecological surgeries worldwide. Vagisan sept vaginal suppositories have the typical chocolate-brown color of iodine preparations due to the active ingredient.

Insert one vaginal suppository deep into the vagina once a day. The vaginal suppositories can be conveniently inserted without an applicator. It is preferable to do this in the evening, as the antiseptic can then work while you sleep. If staining does occur, it can usually be removed with warm water and soap.

The treatment should not be carried out during menstruation. Do not use tampons during the treatment.

If necessary, especially in the case of Candida albicans infection, you can also use two vaginal suppositories daily, one in the morning and one in the evening. The duration of the treatment depends on the improvement of your symptoms but should not exceed 10 days.
