Vaginal pessaries

Insert the vaginal pessary as deeply as possible into the vagina. You should preferably do this in the evening, as the vaginal pessary can then work while you sleep. As the vaginal pessary melts in the vagina, it is advisable to wear a panty liner to avoid greasy stains in your underwear.

Cream

To treat the itching and pain of inflammation of the labia caused by fungus, the cream is applied thinly twice a day to the external genital area from the vaginal entrance to the anus and rubbed in gently. The cream should be used for one week. The treatment can be continued for up to 2 weeks. However, if there is no improvement in symptoms within 7 days, please contact your doctor.

If necessary, a second treatment can be given for a further 3 days. However, if there is no improvement in symptoms within 3 days, please consult your doctor.

Why some women suffer more than others from recurrent vaginal mycosis infections (f.ex. vaginal thrush or vaginal fungal infections) is unfortunately not yet well understood. When a fungal infection occurs, it must first be treated with an antifungal agent. You can help prevent a new infection by taking various hygienic measures (tips for proper intimate hygiene). For example, you can support your body's natural defences by regularly using Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion. Many users report that they have had fewer infections in the intimate area since using Vagisan Intimate Wash Lotion.

To strengthen the vaginal flora, the use of Vagisan ProbioFlora Lactic Acid Bacteria can also be considered - after the actual antifungal treatment.

Yes. Use during pregnancy is possible, but only as advised by your doctor.

You should not use the vaginal pessary during your period. Wait until the bleeding stops before inserting the pessary. You can also apply the cream to the external intimate area and the vaginal entrance during menstruation.

When itching recurs, most people think of vaginal fungal infections, because itching is one of the most important symptoms of vaginal fungus. However, if the itching does not improve despite (repeated) treatment with antifungal medication, we recommend that you see a doctor in any case. Persistence of symptoms can also be due to causes other than vaginal mycosis; in this case, it is important that a specialist finds out the cause and can prescribe the appropriate treatment. For example, if there is severe itching that persists despite various treatments, think of lichen sclerosus. This is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that can occur in the genital area and needs to be treated by a specialist.
